I have installed the final release of ubuntu edgy on a Compaq Presario M200Z and the system does not recognize my power button.
The command "gnome-power-manager --no-daemon --verbose" lets me know that there is no recognition from g-p-m of the power button.

I have installed the final release of ubuntu edgy on a Compaq Presario M2000Z and the system does not recognize my power button.
The command "gnome-power-manager --no-daemon --verbose" lets me know that there is no recognition from g-p-m of the power button but there is one of the lid button.
This used to work fine with dapper.

Hi Laszlo,
Can you run `lshal -m` and hit the power button? Does it respond?
You should see something like "acpi_PWRF condition ButtonPressed = power"

I believe this is because Linux is detecting a PWRF button instead of a PWRB. |
