The bcm43xx stuff has been in Ubuntu since the release of 6.06. You need the fwcutter to get the firmware to get it to work, however. |

Yeah, we have bcm43xx support, but the 4311 chipset isn't supported in that driver. |

Yep, I was looking at the 2.6.19 source, which in fact doesn't contain the 4311 support.
However, dapper and edgy both contain 4311 support and PCI-E support. |
