APOLOGIES
Terribly confused by launchpad, this is the same issue as #65039. Hope this is in the right place. Please let me know how to get rid of #65039.
----------
I just upgraded with the kernel packages released yesterday (2006-10-09). I'm running a core 2 duo laptop with an Intel 945GM graphics card. Previous to this apt-get upgrade Beryl ran beautifully, now when I activate it my machine is slowed down by thousands of syslog entries being appended per second:
i915_emit_cmds(nnn) Where nnn is a number normally 369, 374, 265, 359, 362 and possibly others. I can't identify a pattern.

The 18 month support period for Edgy Eft 6.10 has reached its end of life. As a result, we are closing the linux-source-2.6.17 Edgy Eft kernel task. However, development has already began for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. It would be helpful if you could test the upcoming release and verify if this is still an issue - http:// www.ubuntu. com/testing . If the issue still exists, please update this report by changing the Status of the "linux" task from "Incomplete" to "New". We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Thanks!
