Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17

The macbook has a IR port that is supported by a off-tree driver available here:

https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/mactel-linux/trunk/kernel/mactel-patches-2.6.18/ir.patch

It would be great to have this available so I could use the great remote to control my computer. If the keycodes where configured to be the same as play/pause/forward/back in gnome it would be able to control applications seamlessly.

Confirmed. Importance probably Wishlist. Hopefully the patch is integrated into the upstream kernel so it'll also be available for Ubuntu.

Yes, it's probably a wishlist although it's hardware support. Is there a way I can change the importance of the bugreports I submit? And yes it would be better if it got into mainline.

Thanks,

Pedro.
