No, my laptop's hardware's apparently hosed. The flasher program can't communicate with it anymore.

I also have a PCMCIA card that has the prism2 hardware. I successfully updated that card's firmware to 1.7.4 and it does seem to work fairly well with network manager now (previously it had a really old 1.3.6 firmware).
