Bug Description

Having a Creative SoundBlaster live usb the sound is disabled when I connect or disconnect my headphones (same with microphone). One has to manually enable it again which is a little annoying.

Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'alsa'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.

Are you using Breezy or Dapper? Which kernel are you using? Please attach (don't comment inline) the output from ``lsusb -v && cat /proc/asound/cards''.

I'm using Dapper - Linux moonlight 2.6.15-20-k7 #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Apr 4 19:26:13 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux

That's the whole output you requested

BTW: I noticed that when I'm changing the volume it is enabled again - but still it's annoying.

Is the above symptom still present after booting from an Edgy Knot 1 live cd?

LCID Fire (lcid-fire) wrote :

Having the current edgy it is still present - even worse. When I connect headphones I don't get any sound on them. When I change the volume after connecting the headphones I get sound from my speakers again...

Is sound inaudible by default for your usb audio device in Edgy?
