Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-image-
On resume from suspend-to-ram, fan always on. If temperature is below 55C (almost always), fan never shuts off. If temperature subsequently rises rises above 55C (cpu power used, due to ambient heat, etc), then drops below 55C, the fan shuts off.
Apparently the thermal module only reacting to trip points without regard to actual current state.

I have the same issue using linux-image- 2.6.17- 10-generic on Edgy. I am running on a Gateway 450 laptop.
I fixed the problem by placing the attached script in /etc/acpi/ resume. d/99-turn- fan-off. sh
