Notice that your sound hardware has been allocated no resources (as evidenced by your /proc/interrupts contents). This means that the sound driver, snd_via82xx, cannot function properly and thus you have "no sound."
Did you try my recommendation from #ubuntu/Freenode to disable all unused devices in BIOS?
Have you tried booting with "acpi=off" and/or "noapic"? |

That's been fixed. Also, the problem with the symbol changes. If you are compiling your own drivers, chances are you will have to recompile it periodically as new versions of the kernel come out. |
