Yup, I'm not using the ipw2200, so I guess this is a red herring. That being said, other distributions turn of my computer (a desktop with a ECS K7S5A mainboard) just fine (for instance. the grml live cd), so I think collecting all the hardware info won't really help, either. If I knew how to build my own kernel from the Ubuntu source package, I'd try that and fiddle with the power management options, but I don't (yet).
