Booting with this option is not something that is required to work. It is meant as a work around.
Does booting without it work? If not, have you tried other boot options:

That's a seperate issue altogether. We can't guarantee that booting with this option will work now or in the future. It's a workaround.
What I'd really like is to resolve your other issues instead. The ones that occur without this option.
Please file bug report(s) for those issues.
Note, the 2.6.15-15 kernel that will be available in a few days has a huge acpi update. Maybe it will resolve some of your issues. |
