removing flash card without unmounting wedges things

Bug Description

With the hack to sleep(1) in hal-unmount-dev, I can now mount my flash card
without hal unmounting it immediately. However, if I remove it without first
unmounting it, things get badly confused. I've attached the full messages file
for that os session, and can recreate this as needed.

If possible, please upgrade to Dapper's 2.6.15-7 kernel. If you do not want to
upgrade to Dapper, then you can also wait for the Dapper Flight 2 CD's, which
are due out within the next few days.

Let me know if this bug still exists with this kernel.
