Bug Description

Posting here since there are barely any reports on this issue except this Intel community forum ticket. https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/Wifi-is-not-working-on-ubuntu/m-p/1532192/thread-id/50189

In recent days (Oct 16 2023) wireless suddenly stopped working and the "wireless adapter not found" message is printed in Ubuntu's Wireless settings. The above ticket has most of the technical details, but it looks like it's an issue with the recent kernel version 6.1.0-1023-oem and happens on Dell XPS 9320 with Intel 6E AX211 Wireless Card.

Note Intel have returned to the issue submitter and ask him to turn the issue back to Dell. Beats me why can't these two corporations figure the issue on their own and ask the user to act as a proxy.

The current temporary solution until this issue is investigated and resolved is to downgrade the kernel version. The second most recent version I had available was 6.0.0-1021-oem and it resolved the issue. I followed this guide and it resolved it for me. https://www.groovypost.com/howto/how-to-downgrade-the-kernel-in-ubuntu/

Note that running Ubuntu updates can re-update your kernel version back.

Link to "Ask Ubuntu" question since this issue took a considerable amount of my time to pinpoint. Hoping to save others the trouble: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1489313/wireless-not-working-on-dell-xps-9320-1360p-intel-6e-ax211-wireless-card-with

Same issue here since 12 Oct 2023 on the same machine. Thanks for this. Downgrading the Kernel version also worked, though I just followed the steps here under "7. Change or Set Default Kernel Version" https://linux.how2shout.com/how-to-change-default-kernel-in-ubuntu-22-04-20-04-lts/ to select the version upon boot as 6.0.0-1021-oem was still installed.

Upgrading to most recent kernel version fixes the issue as well, so no need to downgrade anymore:

# uname -ar
Linux roach 6.2.0-35-generic #35~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Fri Oct 6 10:23:26 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Correction, the `-generic` kernel has the same issue. The following kernel version (note it's `-oem`) works:

```
# uname -a
Linux roach 6.1.0-1024-oem #24-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Oct 4 10:18:09 UTC 2023 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
```

The Intel 6E AX211 wireless card in my Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 laptop does not work with kernel version 6.1.0-1025-oem on Ubuntu 22.04. After a week of trying to solve this, I found this page. Downgrading to kernel version 6.1.0-1024-oem solved the issue.
