Bug Description
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
Release: 18.04
Toshiba Satellite C55-A5105
Thank you for taking the time to read this..
The laptop keyboard and trackpad do not work, anytime... not during installation, or after installation.
I am currently using an USB mouse and USB keyboard, they both work. Have tried many solutions that I have found online but have not been successfull. It appears that they are not being loaded into the kernel at boot, hence not showing up when I do 'cat /proc/bus/
The system does see them as I have found out when I did: 'journalctl -xb'
They show up as:
"Kernel: i8042: PNP:PS/2 Controller
[PNP0303:
Kernel:serio:i8042 KBD port at 0x60, 0x64 irq 1
Kernel:serio:i8042 AUX port at 0x60, 0x54 irq 12
kernel:
kernel:i8042:Can't write CTR while closing AUX port
kernel:i8042:Can't reactivate AUX port
