ftrace test from ubuntu_kernel_selftests timeout on F-5.8 P8

Bug Description

Issue found on Focal 5.8.0-33, with P8 node dryden
The ftracetest will timeout with:
    [17] event tracing - enable/disable with subsystem level files

This issue can be found on 5.8.0-30.32~20.04.1 with node entei as well, and 5.8.0-25.26~20.04.1
 with node modoc.

But not 5.8.0-22.23~20.04.1 on modoc (in this kernel this test hang with test [60] event trigger - test inter-event histogram trigger onmatch action )

A manual test on dryden shows it will take more than 1 hour to finish this test.

however the node disconnected at the 77th test:
[77] (instance) Basic test for tracers

Will need to connect to the console to see what going on here.
