Bug Description

While trying to remove some old kernels from my system, the uninstallation of both linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-22-generic and linux-restricted-modules-2.6.28-11-generic got stuck seemingly indefinitely after printing a line that said "update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-(version number)-generic".

Pressing Ctrl-C allowed the uninstallation of other packages to complete, and re-running the removal command got the two problematic packages successfully removed too, although the process too quite long and emitted copious error messages.

I've included the full output of the two commands as an attachment to this report, as it is somewhat too verbose to be pasted here.
