Bug Description
system crashed during update-manager update.
update-managers advise was: sudo dpkg --configure -a
this didn't solved the problem.
I needed to remove linux-image-generic to remove linux-image-
other commands tried:
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo aptitude reinstall linux-image-
also with a empty /var/cache/
