totem shows videos decolorized

opening a video with totem, the image gets decolorized. the same doesnt happen if i open it with vlc.
im using ubuntu 8.10, but this also happend using ubuntu 8.04.
check the screenshot for details on error.

the screenshot shows wrong color in vlc, why do you say it doesn't happen in vlc? what video card and driver do you use?

well let me explain why i got into that confusion of totem/vlc ...
the thing is that if i restart my laptop, and open the video using vlc the color is perfect, but if I open it with totem, the video is decolorized and any video i open after then with totem or vlc, gets decolorized.
so in summary: if i only use vlc, everything gets good colors and if for some reason i open totem all videos get decolorized for the rest of the session untill i restart.

im using nvidia binary drivers installed through the Restricted Hardware application.

i get the same problem... I run an NVIDIA card with the proprietary hardware and I've been seeing this issue since the last ubuntu release. If i reboot GDM everything is OK till I try to open VLC or a MKV with Xine then everything gets decolorized in that weird green tone.

I just did a fresh install and still have that issue.
