Bug Description

linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17 in edgy comes with a number of firmwares for USB DVB devices, but it's missing quite a few.. The 'standard source' in the linux-dvb world to obtain these is

http://thadathil.net:8000/dvb/fw/dvb-usb/

Could these extras be included in a future release?

The link doesn't work, besides there have been some changes to the list during Hardy. If something is missing please reopen.

You're quite right; the link no longer works 15 months after the 'bug' was reported.

Some of the firmwares I'm particularly interested in (i.e. I have devices that use them) are here now:

http://www.chandlerfamily.org.uk/files/firmware/

dvb-usb-wt220u-01.fw is already in the gutsy kernel (same md5sum) but the other three (variants on the same hardware) should be added. Their license will be no less or more restrictive.
