On Ubuntu Hardy beta with kernel 2.6.24-14-xen when I install xorg-driver-fglrx, GUI doesn't work.
I can login the system (with gdm), but then I get white screen.

hi,

Quite the same here:
HP nx9420, ATI Radeon X1600
Fresh and up to date kubuntu 4.0.3 install
Linux image & restricted modules 2.6.24-18-xen

Can login with KDM, hear the greating, but only get a black screen with only the mouse cursor.
If I blindly click on the "K" menu, its shape briefly appears in white... that's all I can get and have to ctrl+alt+bkspc.

Forgive me for not providing these in the first post... but here are logs I wish could help.
modprobe.log is the tail of /var/log/messages when I try to modprobe -v fglrx (but don't know if it makes sense :-P )
