My Graficcard is in the System as PCI-E, in the Xorg.0.log find this:

(II) Bus -1: bridge is at (0:31:0), (0,-1,-1), BCTRL: 0x0008 (VGA_EN is set)

(--) PCI: (1:0:1) ATI Technologies Inc ATI Radeon X1950 Pro Secondary (PCIE) rev 154, Mem @ 0xff830000/16

The comand: "lsmod|grep agp"

root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu# lsmod|grep agp

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the "Attachment:" box below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt. Thanks in advance.

You video card is supported by the vesa or radeonhd drivers (no 3D acceleration) or the proprietary, closed-source fglrx driver. The default vesa driver will not use AGP.

Please also attach as a file the output from: sudo lspci -vv.

The only errors I saw in your log file are these:

(EE) AIGLX error: dlsym for __driCreateNewScreen_20050727 failed (/usr/lib/dri/fglrx_dri.so: undefined symbol: __driCreateNewScreen_20050727)
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering

Why do you want to grep for agp? What is exactly the problem that you are reporting?

The PCI to AGP britge is not Installet, and lsmod|grep agp it this result:

root@zaeggu-desktop:/home/zaeggu# lsmod|grep agp
intel_agp 25620 1
agpgart 35016 2 fglrx,intel_agp

The comand grep -i agp /var/log/Xorg.0.log

root@zaeggu-desktop:/home/zaeggu# grep -i agp /var/log/Xorg.0.log
root@zaeggu-desktop:/home/zaeggu#

Wen i install the fglrx-control, the AMD Tool show AGP and x0 normal is x8!

Is this an "AGP Express" interface as explained on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accelerated_Graphics_Port ?

Do you have a real AGP card, but it's plugged into an "AGP Express" slot on a PCIE motherboard? I don't think you can expect AGP to work then. Do you have an example Xorg.0.log where you can see that AGP is working?

I googled your motherboard which looks like a normal PCI board with a normal AGP port: http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D865PERL/sb/CS-008963.htm

There is not much we can do to fix problems with the closed-sourced driver fglrx, but you can maybe try XGL as suggested here:

As of Intrepid (8.10), we have a dedicated package 'fglrx-installer' for fglrx bugs, which now includes a process for upstreaming bugs to AMD.

  http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer

To transition your bug into the new fglrx-package, we need your help. Please do the following:

 a. Verify the bug occurs in Intrepid.
     (Intrepid ISOs: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com)
 b. If you haven't already, please include in the bug:
     * Your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
     * The output of `lspci -vvnn`
     * Steps to reproduce the issue
 c. Click 'Also affects distribution'
 d. Set 'Source Package Name' to 'fglrx-installer'
 e. Click Continue

Thank you. This will assist us in reviewing and upstreaming your fglrx bug, as appropriate.

[We'll expire the fglrx bugs in l-r-m-* in a month or so.]
