Bug Description
Binary package hint: nvidia-glx
First of all I think that the problem is located in more than one package but I can`t choose more than one from the form above.
The Packages are:
nvidia-glx
nvidia-glx-legacy (Check second option on starting the X on the description to understand why I think this package has a problem)
linux-restricte
Problems for me on a PC that I am testing feisty.
This PC has a NVidia MX440 Graphics card and till 2.6.20-12 and NVidia driver 9631 everything was working flawlessly. After the last update I can`t start X using nvidia-glx and as I can read from the logs this card (MX440) is not supported from 9755 nvidia driver.
There are two ways for me to start the X now.
The first one (And one I am using now) is to use "nv" instead of "nvidia" as the driver in lack of 3d acceleration.
The second one is to install the nvidia-glx-legacy that installs the nvidia 7184 driver but this option has a major problem
It is starting the X using the nvidia 3d accelerated driver but I cannot use a resolution above 800x600 and a refresh rate of 60Hz so it is totally useless because I can`t see anything with that refresh rate and resolution.

I have exactly the same problem
I have an Nvidia GF4 MX 440 since i installed the restricted driver my resolution cant go beyond 800x600 neither in the ubuntu resolution change program nor in 'nvidia-settings'. One of the odd things is that in 'nvidia-settings' the monitor is called "@@@"
