Bug Description

I installed Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Beta on Arima W810-DCX notebook (http://www.arima.com.tw/ViewProduct.asp?View=113).
I was able to use text mode terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F1/F2/etc.), but after installing nvidia-glx all I see is blank screen when I'm trying to access text mode terminal. No pointer, nothing...
It is operating (I can log-in, reboot computer, etc...), but I can't see what I'm doing

Can you indicate which version of nvida-glx is installed? This could be a dup of Bug #32389

version is:
nvidia-glx 1.0.8756+2.6.15.8-1

And unlike in Bug #32389 my machine doesn't hang. It is responding and I can switch back with Ctrl+Alt+F7

Does booting without the usplash option in grub help?

Yes, it helped. But still - disabling a feature is not the best option

Can you check whether there is a newer BIOS for your machine?

(Watch out - you flash your BIOS at your OWN RISK. If you turn your machine into a paperweight don't blame me etc.)
