Bug Description

After upgrading to 4.4.0-186.216~14.04.1 only localhost shows up on ifconfig on pc with 2 network cards and disabled ipv6.

Had no time to further test, went back to 184 kernel.

Saved dmesg, syslog available - pls contact me by email if needed.

Hi,

analyzing the problem by comparing dmesg of 184 and 186 kernel:

The renaming of the network interfaces is missing from 186 kernel dmesg, it is working with eth0 and eth1 instead of p1p1 and p2p1.

These lines are existing in the 184 kernel dmesg but missing from 186 kernel dmesg:

[ 0.712610] r8169 0000:03:00.0 p2p1: renamed from eth0
[ 0.725263] systemd-udevd[122]: renamed network interface eth0 to p2p1
[ 0.807594] e1000e 0000:01:00.0 p1p1: renamed from eth0
[ 0.817485] systemd-udevd[121]: renamed network interface eth0 to p1p1

Hi,

187 kernel boots fine with network cards working.

Although had to change the Secure Boot BIOS option from Windows OS to other OS, as

grub talked about signature problem and did not want to boot the new kernel otherwise.
