Bug Description
When I press suspend or close the lid, it suspends for a few seconds and then resumes. If I don't notice it and put it in my bag, I end up with a burning hot laptop.
This happens very often, but not always. So there are some conditions that trigger it. Interestingly, I just spent a month working from home and it never happened then. Some of the differences I can think of are:
- I have an NFS mount which is not mounted then when I am at home, except if I am on the VPN. Whereas at the office I am either on wired ethernet or the companies wifi
- at the office I use synergy to control my workstation. However I have tried killing synergy before suspending and that did not help.
Something else possibly related I have noticed is that the fan is often blowing hard for no apparent reason.
I have a Dell Precision M3800 Laptop, with a GK107GLM [Quadro K1100M] NVIDA graphics card, proprietary nvidia drivers and bbswitch installed.
I also suspect the graphics card driver and bbswitch in that case, however I can't see why this would work better when I'm working from home.
I am sorry for the very vague description, please let me know what other information I can post.

maybe as a first step somebody could provide guidance on how I can flesh out this bug report. e.g. right now I cannot suspend my laptop, is there some log I can post here to help narrow down the issue?
