Bug Description

Reported by Joey Stanford. UBS keyboard and mouse don't work on overo. This works on beagle so there must be some board specific problem.

On Headless:

I get an enumerate error when a keyboard is plugged in.

Jan 21 23:10:47 localhost kernel: [ 4860.508209] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

I don't get any errors when I plug in a mouse but the mouse doesn't light up.

I'm installing Netbook now to retest there.

My keyboard doesn't work either on a headless image. However, I have a different message. dmesg throws out:

We're also using the Overo Tide with this.

I bricked the system with my testing so once I reinstall I'll get an apport dump posted up here.

FYI:
1) I just upgraded to the latest kernel (2.6.37-1002-linaro-omap) and see the same thing.
2) I only get the "enumerate" error message *once*. When I pull the usb key and plug it back in, the kernel says nothing.

Joey - I think this may not be a bug. According to Overo documentation:
  http://www.gumstix.net/images/overo_snapshot_19.pdf

You must connect your USB keyboard/mouse via a *powered* USB hub.

I did this and got the keyboard mostly working. ie - it only works if its plugged in at start-up. It doesn't seem to enumerate if you plug in the keyboard once the system is up.

NOTE: I don't have the DVI display working so I couldn't really check much on the keyboard. I just typed "return" twice and then typed the "reboot" command and the system rebooted.

Oh thanks! I'll give it a try.
