Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Run these commands:
    journalctl -b0 > journal.txt
    journalctl -b-1 > prevjournal.txt
and attach the resulting text files here.

2. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
    ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

3. If step 2 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself.

affects: xorg (Ubuntu) → ubuntu
Changed in ubuntu:
status: New → Incomplete
summary: - Xorg freeze
+ Freeze

I'm guessing you accidentally inserted a space somewhere in the parameters to journalctl. The commands in comment #2 are correct.

Ok I'll try again. Do I run it from the GRUB Root terminal?

I see you're using kernel 6.2 now, but previously had kernel 6.5. So it looks like the issue is bug 2028165 and you should stick to kernel 6.2 to avoid that problem. Did I miss anything?

That is correct. 6.2 is the only one that works in recovery mode.

Oh I missed that. Having a problem with recovery mode probably means this isn't as simple as bug 2028165. Instead I'll move this to being just some new bug in kernel 6.5.

summary: - Freeze
+ Freeze in kernel 6.5 (but 6.2 works)
affects: ubuntu → linux-hwe-6.5 (Ubuntu)
Changed in linux-hwe-6.5 (Ubuntu):
status: Incomplete → New

So i reported the bug for you. But my computer is still in the same bad
shape. Will the new kernel fix it? Or will I have to format and
reinstall ubuntu again?

I suggest you keep using older kernels for the time being. Please also subscribe to bug 2028165 because that does seem to be happening on your system.
