Bug Description

In Hardy, the firmware for ipw2200 wireless cards was in linux-ubuntu-modules (i.e. in main).
In Intrepid, the firmware is in linux-restricted-modules-common (i.e. in restricted).

Users who do not have restricted enabled, or don't have l-r-m-common will find themselves lacking wireless when they upgrade.

Was the firmware incorrectly included in main in the first place?

The licence for this firmware is http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/firmware.php?fid=7 which appears to grant redistribution (IANAL, LOL, BBQ)

Are you sure that this is "medium" importance? Since I rely on Wireless for connection, this breaks my OS on upgrade to Intrepid...

The license grants redistribution, sure (otherwise it wouldn't be redistributed by Ubuntu!), but it forbids disassembly just for starters...

Note that the Ubuntu Licensing Policy states that we will consider firmware in main on a case-by-case basis.

This no longer needs a release notes item since the firmware is staying in main.
