I use an Intel Corporation Wireless-AC 9260 as well and just got hit by the same bug, after updating from 21.10 to 22.04

I solved it by replacing /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-9260-th-b0-jf-b0-46.ucode with one extracted from https://packages.ubuntu.com/impish-updates/linux-firmware

thanks Giacomo Tazzari. I confirm that the above solution works.
This is an LTS release, we hope that this bug does not stand forever until the coming release will be out.

I also ran into this on upgrade to 22.04 - and the workaround worked for me too.

I had the same issue today (May 5th 2022), and the workaround proposed by Giacomo Tazzari worked just fine.

Strangely, the adapter was working just fine after the Ubuntu 22.04 installation (earlier this week). So maybe some recent update caused the issue.

I just want to add something to my last comment, as it was misleading.

The adapter stopped working again. After some exploration, I discovered that my dual-boot with Windows 10 was messing up with the accessibility to the WiFi.

Info here:
https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi
section "About dual-boot with Windows and "fast-boot" enabled"

Simply booting into Windows 10, disabling the fast-boot option, and booting back to Ubuntu 22.04 solved the issue.

Is this still an issue with the latest 5.15 kernel and linux-firmware in 22.04? Reverting firmware to make it work is an interesting data point but obviously not a long-term solution.

If you still encounter problems, please run 'apport-collect 1967842'. Also please indicate if the machine is set up for dual-boot with Windows.
