Ubuntu 13.10 x64 Versions affected so far 1.116 - 1.116.2 With version 1.116.2 I cannot connect to a specific wireless network. The network uses WPA2 Personal authentication. Note that this does not happen on all networks of this configuration. The network will allow me to connect once with a given MAC address and then not again. The same machine will authenticate just fine when booted into windows with the same mac address. Using network-manager to spoof the address will work once for that MAC address. When I downgraded from 1.116.2 to 1.116, the hardware mac address again worked once, then not again. lspci -vv -nn Cut ------------------------------------- 03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6235 [8086:088e] (rev 24)  Subsystem: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6235 AGN [8086:4060]  Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+  Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-  Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 64 bytes  Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 45  Region 0: Memory at f7900000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]  Capabilities: [c8] Power Management version 3   Flags: PMEClk- DSI+ D1- D2- AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0+,D1-,D2-,D3hot+,D3cold+)   Status: D0 NoSoftRst- PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME-  Capabilities: [d0] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+   Address: 00000000fee0800c Data: 41d1  Capabilities: [e0] Express (v1) Endpoint, MSI 00   DevCap: MaxPayload 128 bytes, PhantFunc 0, Latency L0s <512ns, L1 unlimited    ExtTag- AttnBtn- AttnInd- PwrInd- RBE+ FLReset+   DevCtl: Report errors: Correctable- Non-Fatal- Fatal- Unsupported-    RlxdOrd+ ExtTag- PhantFunc- AuxPwr- NoSnoop+ FLReset-    MaxPayload 128 bytes, MaxReadReq 128 bytes   DevSta: CorrErr+ UncorrErr- FatalErr- UnsuppReq+ AuxPwr+ TransPend-   LnkCap: Port #0, Speed 2.5GT/s, Width x1, ASPM L0s L1, Latency L0 <4us, L1 <32us    ClockPM+ Surprise- LLActRep- BwNot-   LnkCtl: ASPM Disabled; RCB 64 bytes Disabled- Retrain- CommClk+    ExtSynch- ClockPM- AutWidDis- BWInt- AutBWInt-   LnkSta: Speed 2.5GT/s, Width x1, TrErr- Train- SlotClk+ DLActive- BWMgmt- ABWMgmt-  Capabilities: [100 v1] Advanced Error Reporting   UESta: DLP- SDES- TLP- FCP- CmpltTO- CmpltAbrt- UnxCmplt- RxOF- MalfTLP- ECRC- UnsupReq- ACSViol-   UEMsk: DLP- SDES- TLP- FCP- CmpltTO- CmpltAbrt- UnxCmplt- RxOF- MalfTLP- ECRC- UnsupReq- ACSViol-   UESvrt: DLP+ SDES- TLP- FCP+ CmpltTO- CmpltAbrt- UnxCmplt- RxOF+ MalfTLP+ ECRC- UnsupReq- ACSViol-   CESta: RxErr- BadTLP- BadDLLP- Rollover- Timeout- NonFatalErr+   CEMsk: RxErr- BadTLP- BadDLLP- Rollover- Timeout- NonFatalErr+   AERCap: First Error Pointer: 00, GenCap- CGenEn- ChkCap- ChkEn-  Capabilities: [140 v1] Device Serial Number c8-f7-33-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx  Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi ---------------------------------------------- dmesg Cut ----------------------------------------- [ 2284.810477] wlan0: authenticate with 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx [ 2284.814979] wlan0: direct probe to 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx (try 1/3) [ 2285.015817] wlan0: direct probe to 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx (try 2/3) [ 2285.216745] wlan0: direct probe to 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx (try 3/3) [ 2285.417606] wlan0: authentication with 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx timed out ----------------------------------------- other times I saw Cut ----------------------------------------- [ 1861.435123] wlan0: authenticate with 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx [ 1861.437704] wlan0: send auth to 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx (try 1/3) [ 1861.439038] wlan0: authenticated [ 1861.440004] wlan0: associate with 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx (try 1/3) [ 1861.447702] wlan0: RX AssocResp from 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx (capab=0x411 status=0 aid=22) [ 1861.455372] wlan0: associated [ 1861.455420] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): wlan0: link becomes ready [ 1864.024598] wlan0: deauthenticated from 00:13:a6:xx:xx:xx (Reason: 15) -----------------------------------------
