Bug Description
At least for versions 2.6.32-29.28 and 2.6.32-30.29 the modules can not be loaded by the generic kernel.
I just noticed that my WWAN connection was not working and investigated a bit. It seems, that the modules have been compiled against the server kernel:
# modinfo usb_wwan
filename: /lib/modules/
license: GPL
version: v0.7.2
description: USB Driver for GSM modems

# modprobe usb_wwan
FATAL: Error inserting usb_wwan (/lib/modules/
dmesg:
[ 2013.352878] usb_wwan: disagrees about version of symbol module_layout
# uname -a
Linux nb-ja 2.6.32-30-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 1 21:30:46 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux
It would be great if someone could fix this.

I am having a similar problem. Similar setup as above, hardware Lenovo ThinkPad X201 which worked fine before. It would be great to get it working again.
