iwlagn (4965) poor wireless-N performance on Intrepid Beta

I'm experiencing very poor performance with my Intel 4965AGN card connected to a 80211n network.

With Hardy, the latest linux-backports-modules package (2.6.24-21.27) and iperf I get 70 Mbps.
With Intrepid Beta I don't go beyond 30 Mbps.

Updating to linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic_2.6.27-7.10 makes no difference.

This still a problem even in ibex .. the iwlagn driver doesnt seem to support anything able G speeds or possibly nothing in the 5ghz range. I get 60mb tops, never more, but mostly it locks at G speed.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. linux-backports-modules-2.6.27 does not seem to be the right package: as the second comment says, this problem appears in Ubuntu 8.10 (intrepid) without backports.

I have the same experience: an Intel wifi "link 5300" card in my laptop, which connects usually at 54 Mb/s or sometimes 60 Mb/s to my wireless N router under Ubuntu 8.10. When using Windows Vista on the same machine, the connection speed is 130 Mb/s.

(Of course, the actual transfer rates do not reflect these figures. The figure for Ubuntu is what is reported by ifwconfig. Signal strength is 100%, so that is not a problem.)

i have Intel 4965AGN card and asus wl-500w (802.11n draft-n enabled router).

With latest Intrepid kernel modules Wi-Fi speed link is about 30Mbits, while latest linux-backports-modules from Hardy gave me 80MBits.
