Hi Cushie,

I'm sorry, what I meant to say is just that the kernel devs (not ubuntu devs) have broken the driver because they changed something in the internals of the kernel itself. If this were true it would mean there isn't unfortunately an easy solution to fix the problem, apart from trying to use the windows driver via "ndiswrapper"; but I can't assure it would work, and probably it isn't a thing you can try on the live cd with ease.
