Lilo is not run after lilo.conf is updated during Dapper dist-upgrade

Bug Description

I upgrade Dapper using the dist upgrade. I was asked by the installer if it was OK to update lilo.conf and clicked Yes. However, lilo was not run afterwards, and on reboot there was a kernel panic which required booting with a CD and manually running lilo w/chroot. Sounds like bug no 31790.

Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'linux-image'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.

 How did you do the upgrade? If you did it via the upgrade tool, can you please attach your /var/log/dist-upgrade*.log files to this bugreport?

No trace of the file you requested, but this looks like it might be the correct one...
