Failure to install lilo update

Bug Description

Binary package hint: lilo

Upon system upgrade to ubuntu 9.04 from 8.10, received an error alerting me "Could not install 'lilo'" with message "subprocess post installation script returned error exit status 1" . This was after already receiving two errors about another, presumably non-upgrade related package called Freeciv. Fourth and final error stated that "Could not install upgrades" with message "The upgrade aborts now. System may become unusable. A recovery will run now (dpkg --configure -a)"

In the middle of this update my computer unexpectedly went to sleep, however the update appeared to pick up where it had been interrupted. It did, however, say that only a partial update would be performed. Too true - lilo sets a frequent crash error and thus I am here. I am also having difficulty updating other programs (firefox) which have suddenly become out of date.

ProblemType: Package
Architecture: amd64
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ErrorMessage: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Package: lilo 1:22.8-7ubuntu1
SourcePackage: lilo
Title: package lilo 1:22.8-7ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic x86_64

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
