Bug Description

I recently travelled to London from the eastern United States. I was able to easily change my system time zone to London using the date/time indicator however my appointments in Thunderbird (Lightning) did not update to reflect the change. I had to dig through the preferences window in Thunderbird to change Lightning's time zone.

Isn't TB the new default MUA in Ubuntu? I suppose (hope) that the calendar extension is included in this move?

By design, this doesn't happen automatically. You have to go to Preferences -> Calendar -> General, and manually set the time zone. I'd recommend attaching the upstream bug here from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org if the feature request exists. If not, create it there and then link here so we can track it.
