lightning appointment notification window keeps appearing and vanishing

Maybe once an hour(? -- Once i started tracking a bit more closely, seemed to always happen at X:19 today, but not sure how consistent the pattern is yet), i hear the 'beep' that I usually hear when I get a calendar reminder notification. If i'm quick, I can see the notification popup appear, and then disappear instantly a moment later.

upon further monitoring, appears to happen every 30 minutes.

Steps to reproduce:

just idling, running thunderbird 5.0 with lightning 1.0b4 from ubuntu oneiric repository

Actual results:

approximately every 30 minutes i hear the 'beep' that I usually hear when I get a calendar reminder notification. If i'm quick, I can see the notification popup appear, and then disappear instantly a moment later.

Expected results:

no reminder scheduled for most of these times, so should hear no beep, and see no transient window
