Bug Description
I just upgraded 11.04 to 11.10. The login manager gives me a cog, upon which I click. I see a list of shells. KDE Plasma is among them. I select it and enter my password. I get not KDE but Unity again. No errors, no offers to install the necessary software, just silent flouting of my wish.
I've selected "KDE" at the login prompt and then re-clicked and sure enough the indicator bullet is next to KDE. So it's accepting my clicks.

Update: this was true of the other desktop choices as well. The workaround: reboot again. Still a bug, though--at least it should probably recognise the problem and say "You need to reboot again" or something.
