'sudo stop lightdm' does not stop X

lightdm (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: lightdm

On stopping lightDM the session is terminated, but we still have X running (background is painted, mouse cursor functional). Looking at active processes, we see X is still running:

[cerdea-aws]cerdea@xango3:~$ ps aux | grep X
root 28228 0.0 0.3 138352 32632 ? Ss 08:10 0:02 /usr/bin/X :0 -auth /var/run/lightdm/authority/0 -nolisten tcp vt1

So, to fully terminate X we must pkill -9 /usr/bin/X. Instead, stopping lightDM should stop X also.
