Bug Description

I recently upgraded my Ubuntu to the latest version:

Description: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Release: 16.04

When I log in and then let the screen be turned off by inactivity (currently set for 5 minutes WITHOUT screenlock) I am unable to resume the session, that is typing on the keyboard or moving the
mouse does not return my login to an active session.

Thanks for your report. It's not a docs issue, though.

To help debug this, can you please create a new user for test purposes, disable screenlocking, and let us know if the problem is present also for that user.

I created a new user, logged in as the user, changed the account so no lockscreen would occur (default timeout is 5 minutes), brought up a browser just for some extra activity and then walked away.

12 minutes later I came back and was again unable to get any response typing multiple keys on the keyboard or moving the mouse. Just a nice dark screen.

Thanks, then we know that the issue is not specific to the contents of $HOME. Hopefully some experienced developer (i.e. not me) will take on this bug soon.
