Bug Description

When I boot my laptop I reach the login screen of ubuntu 14.04.

I have 3 login id's
one of which is guest account.
when I try to type the password in my regular login account the password field does not accept the entry. Then I chenge my language / keyboard settings in top right corner of the screen from english with rupee sign to english uk and back again to english with rupee sign it allows me to type the password in my password field. my password is all caps so i keep the caps lock on.
i tried with caps lock on and off both but it allows only after tweaking the keybord settings.

I think I am experiencing a similar problem in one of my computers. I can log in fine, but when I press Ctrl-Alt-L or my X session becomes otherwise locked I cannot input the password to get back in anymore. It's always refused as incorrect even though I enter the correct password. A successful workaround is to choose "Switch Account" in the top right corner and then login in successfully with the previously rejected password. Still wondering what is going on there.
