windows collapse to laptop display after unlocking screen

Setup: Laptop + external monitor connected via HDMI.

I'll have application windows on external monitor, and then I'll lock my screen. When I unlock my screen, all app windows are on laptop display.

I expect the windows to stay on their respective displays, not collapse to my laptop display.

I have no idea if I selected the right package. Maybe someone with more familiarity with Ubuntu's display manager can weigh in.
