The lightdm locking facility is an unfinished work, and lack a proper way to lock the session, it started at the begin of the cycle, and was a bit forgotten later in the development. It's unfortunate that it went into the release in this state.

That's said, the less invasive way I can see to "fix" it is to completely remove the lightdm option in lxlock. However, it will break the "Lock" button of lxsession-logout, which need another lock system by default to work properly by default. But, no-one is currently ready enough out-of-the-box to work as a replacement (xscreensaver need to be start at startup, slock provide a not-user-friedly interface, light-locker is out of universe, and gnome-screensaver is out of the question). So, the only way is to just remove the "Lock" button to avoid confusion. It will be still possible to lock the session if people use lxlock and set-up the proper configuration.

I'm preparing a patched version of lxsession with those changes, so people will be able to test it.
