Bug Description
Binary package hint: light-themes
Like the summary says, the button trough looks extremely ugly when there is only a subset of available buttons present in the title bar. Applications exhibiting the behavior include the Ubiquity progress window and the Gnome calculator. There are probably more, but those are the only ones I can find.
Basically, the problem is that the minimize button displays a square, open-ended trough on the side that is missing a button. The trough when all of the buttons are present has rounded, closed ends. I did observe that when only the close button is present, the trough displays as a circular indentation around it. A behavior similar to that would be desirable for the rest of the combinations of buttons.
