Bug Description

The menu entry 'Preferences>Light Locker Settings' does nothing in Lubuntu Xenial. The XFCE Power Manager may have now replaced this.

The following message is shown from CLI running light-locker:

ght-locker:3951): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files

** (light-locker:3951): WARNING **: screensaver already running in this session

there is already a bugfix on Launchpad, but it doesn't get reviewed and merged: https://code.launchpad.net/.../fix_get_pid.../+merge/289556

Also, as pointed out on the summary, has the functionality that Light Locker brings been rolled into xcfe Power Manager?

@phillw: Sorry, the link to that merge-request seems broken.

To be clear, the functionality of light-locker-settings has been rolled into xfce4-power-manager, not the functionality of light-locker itself.

The message from light-locker is odd, the a11y warning can be disregarded, but the notice that another screensaver is already running is strange. Does lubuntu install another screensaver on top of light-locker?

I've also experienced this problem. I'm running a clean install of Lubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus on an AMD A4 chipset desktop PC with AMD Radeon HD6410 APU.

I've also noticed that whenever lightlocker kicks in, the desktop session crashes. When I return to wake up the screen, I am faced with the session login screen, rather than the unlock dialog, and the applications which were running before the screensaver started are now not running = new session. I don't know if this is a related bug, or if there is a separate bug report for this issue, but it seems related to me. I also vaguely recall this second issue being a problem in an earlier LTS release, possibly Precise or Trusty.

Regards Simon's question "Does lubuntu install another screensaver on top of light-locker?" I have seen instances where an upgrade install (eg Xubuntu DE on top of Ubuntu) can cause gnome-screensaver to coexist with light locker, causing problems. See, for example http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2230844
