Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

The new tooltip introduced in Hardy, which is Compiz-aware gives wrong infos in the first line when using Compiz.

1. When hovering with the mouse cursor over the current workspace it always says "Desk 1"

2. When hovering over a window-preview, it tells you you can drag it inside the Switcher, which doesw not work with Compiz.

Easiest solution would be hiding that first line when Compiz is running (like the expo and scale options are hidden when using Metacity).

Thank you for your bug report. Not sure that's a bug, the code should rather be fixed to have the dnd working and there is already a bug about that

Changed in gnome-panel:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Confirmed

I know but that issue is there since Feisty and I doubt it will be fixed until Hardy's release, so it's better to obscure the problem for now.

P.S. Sorry, can anyone please remove the duplicate attachment? Thanks.
