Martin Pitt pointed to a previous launchpad bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1802005

This looks like a regression, which affects me on Ubuntu Budgie 21.04. Workaround described in the above launchpad bug report solves the problem on 21.04 too.
