Bug Description

A lot of us Canonical folks heavily depend on mumble. With unity, the really practical systray icon went away, which shows you whether you are currently speaking or muted, and gives you a quick way to mute/unmute yourself. Note that while speaking you often don't stare at the mumble window, but are working in a browser, IRC, code, etc.

There is no indicator support for mumble right now. Can we please whitelist Mumble for the systray for now?

Just for clarification.
The indicator sound does expose the voip slider when mumble is active. I know this does not meet all your needs but just in case you were unaware of this new feature.

Martin, is this + not closing the mumble window sufficient for your needs?

I don't need to change the volume slider, I want to see whether I'm muted or speaking, and also have a quick way of getting back the mumble window. The latter is just a minor inconvenience, the former is very confusing if you use keys to switch between "I speak" and "muted" (as sometimes you lose track and speak while you muted and vice versa).

So, I can stare at the mumble window all the time without the indicator, it's just a lot less sensible than staring at the actual subject you are currently discussing with your peers :)

An indicator should be an easy patch to mumble, if anyone's interested
in a full solution here ;-)

Right now, we whitelist it. I pinged Jorge so that we can have a "community contribution" hilight on it :)

I don't know if it's intentional, but the branch linked here whitelists "Mutter" instead of "Mumble".
I've proposed an appropriate merge.

(setting the libunity-misc task invaid as the whitelist is in unity itself, even if the logic is in lilbunity-misc, sorry for the wrong pointer Martin!)
