Bug Description

Binary package hint: libtunepimp5-mp3

libtunepimp5-mp3 is not installed automatically as mp3 support.

This may cause problems to users who want to use Musicbrainz (for example in Amarok).

This is a new bug and still causing problems with Amarok as of today's updates...

Clicking "Fill-In Tags Using MusicBrainz" button in the Track Information dialog of any file / song results in the following error message:

"Tunepimp (MusicBrainz tagging library) returned the following error: "Fingerprinting of .mp3 files is not supported."."

This is a big deal in regards to cataloging and synchronizing song data for consistancy with all amarok users and music listeners :)

If you click "OK" on the error dialog and then click the "Fill-In Tags Using..." button again... it "goes gray" and the button text changes to "Generating audio fingerprint..." at which point nothing is ever returned instead of updating of the File Tags ...

Clicking cancel on the Track Information dialog and then trying to "Fill-In the Tags" on any other file produces the grayed out button with the "Generating audio fingerprint" text, but no results.

Restarting Amarok will produce the initial error dialog again.

I can reproduce this with a clean install of Amarok and the default dependencies
