Attached is a compressed tar including a apport-cli file, the output of apt-show-versions and the simplest code I could put together to demonsrate the problem. Unpack and "make" for instructions. The content of the zupdate.sh file is plainly understood. Output from when I run the test is included.
Bug is *not* evident in libsql- statement- perl 0.1020-2 Debian Woody. statement- perl 1.15-2 Ubuntu Hardy.
Bug applies also to libsql-
I suppose problem could perhaps be in another module such as libdbd-csv-perl
