ubuntu 16.10 unity8 desktop
neverball on mir is transparent, you can see the windows behind
install neverball (apt install neverball), run it on mir, ubuntu-app-launch neverball

I think this might be the same compositing bug as 1510386 where Unity8 doesn't yet render RGBX correctly (it interprets the X as A instead of ignoring it).
Can you please try running neverball in mir_proving_server or mir_demo_server_* ?
